hi , i need to make an exhaust soon for my duetz as i could end up starting some fires as the exhaust blows down wards , and sparks which could lead to dried grass catching in the summer, does anyone no what the shortest angled pipe i can get i think its the same sized thread as a D

You can get a 90* elbow, this is about 1 1/2 inch to the bottom after you have screwed it in. Get a black iron one not a galvernized one.

Should get change from a fiver. You need to ask for a 1inch male x female equal elbow

as villiers says ryan, get elbows with a male end and female end, that way if you get bored............. no sorry wrong idea, erm yeah, anyway moving on................. malleable iron is the cheapest (black iron) but the forged ones made from steel can be welded.

lister D's are 1" British Standard Pipe, BSP, measured from the inside diameter of the bore

S.J. Andrews in Redruth sells black iron pipe fittings - they've always seemed cheap for those... just make sure it's the black iron ones you select or your wallet will take a battering!!!

These should be pre-threaded. You're right, they are expensive for some stuff, we had about 150kgs of (10 inch?) channel from them last year and that cost an arm and a leg!!
