Re: Tips for bringing up brass
My Tips for Polishing Brass are as follows:
If very heavily tarnished then start with course wire wool, then work down a couple of grades and finish with very fine.
Then use fine wire wool with a bit if brasso.
Finally polish up to a deep shine with neat brasso, and buff to a deep shine.
Works for me!!
Cheers
Martin.

I use solvol autosol metal cleaner, it works alot better than brasso & doesn't leave marks.

if it's a first time clean and it is off the engine etc then dip it into vinegar, it turns it orange but softens it up so it polishes easyer

I watch Kim and Agy
another good one for small steel parts of later engines, is to boil them in a sauce pan with cut rubarb for 10 minutes works a treat
