Blacksmith's forge drill / Lister D /R

Post by davec on Mon Aug 17 2009, 19:24

This is my mate's new project that we have just finished.
It is a forge drill, made about 1900, powered by a 1939 Lister D reverse rotation.
It's such a big thing that I couldn't get it all in in one picture on my phone

I think I have got the engine running just right, 500 RPM with one spring. Lister made a batch of 500 RPM engines in 1928 by doing just this. Idea
Check it out...

He has since turned the side flywheel round so the spokes go the right way! drunken
I will get some better pictures when we have it on the rallyfield on Bank Holiday Monday
Cheers
