Post by Guest on Fri Nov 12 2010, 16:18

Hello,

Well got out of work early and went to pick up some bits I bought, Among that was...........

..........A Teagle Very Happy

Not everyones cup o tea, but a nice little thing to keep be busy over the winter, plus its a Cornish engine Very Happy

Well I have 2 now lol ones incomplete, but as there only diddy was thinking about a exploded view one, on a display board, see how it goes.

The good one has, the carb and orginal tank, 2 bits that normaly go to small open cranks, and the nice cast exhaust, I do like the inboard pulley.

Here she is:

as you can see its a small engine, 50cc in total.

Cheers Steve

Luckly it has its carb, exhaust and orginal tank, which is nice, I got the casing off today and just had a quick look around, it hasnt got any spark at present, but couldnt get the flywheel off to have a look inside.

Also I have a cracked fin, but the one on the spare might be ok, havnt got to looking at that one yet.

Right will leave it go for a week, got to pack for going DC, leave here at 630 tomorrow, so I better pack.

Cheers Steve

Well I know there not everyone cup of tea, but there not that bad!

I had to have one as there from truro! So a cornish engine, plus perfect for slinging into the boot for short crank ups etc.

Oh and will keep me quite, as I'm no going Cyprus at the mo, Cristín will be off of work starting April, going to be tight, and save the casj

Well had a look at the spare engine and took some parts of the main engine.

The spare has a broken crank shaft, but a 18mm head, so will work out ok in the end.

sprayed over the cowling with the left over de-greaser, and looks like it will be a doddle to clean!

Had a quick polish up of the casing and cleaned the crud off the exhaust, got a bit to do but my drills battery went flat.

Looks like a one eye easter island head

I slapped the teagle back together and borrowed the Normans fuel tank.

Few pulls of the rope and away she went, didn't run it to long or make a video as it hasn't got a base, but am glad the mag works,

This isn't the site for small air cooled engines then, Il keep updating this just to have something other then welcome posts.

Having a little trouble with the teagle, I cant work out how to mount in on a base......

I had the Idea to make to straight brackets and bolt it to the wood.

As you can see its was supposed to be under slung from a JetCut, I was going to make a straight bracket do to two bits of wood, running at 90 degrees to the crank shaft, the one on furthest away from the flywheel need a notch cut into it to allow the crank case to rest on the wood, but the flywheel end would be in the air.
One problem with this is it will only be attached at one side, so may vibrated a fair bit.
I would make a metal frame but lack of welding gear may be a issue. I did pinch my Fathers Dremel which may come in handy, gave the small cutting disc ago, worked a treat.

After the base I need to work out a mount for the tank, I have the original tank straps, but they only go around half the tank, the only thing I cant think of but dont really want to do is used the petrol tap as a mount and make a bracket to the cylinder head nuts, but dont really want to do this!

As you can tell im going in circles, and could used a fresh set of eyes!

Please dont hold back your Ideas.

Cheers Steve

Well I slapped together a base, seems to do the job, not the prettiest but does the job, Before anyone asks, doubt anyone would, evil small two strokes and all that lol, The base is like it is so I can still fit a belt if I decide to drive anything from it, still needs sanding and staining, the top bits were test bits for the dynamo.

I did start it up to make a video, but it got to dark and I couldn't keep it going, on anything others then flat out!

Just need to sort the tank out and give it a good clean!

Cheers Steve
