HELP WHAT COLOUR GREEN FOR VILLIERS

HI THRERE
I HAVE FOUR VILLIERS ENGINES
DATING FROM 1956 TO 1970
THEY ARE ALL OF A SIMILIAR GREEN COLOUR, BUT I CANT FIND A COLOUR SHADE OR CODE FOR THE PAINT ANYWERE ON THE NET .
!!!!!OR DO I JUST PICK MY OWN COLOUR FOR THEM ALL!!!!!!! LOL

serious note though, i have seen some paint them Mid Brunswick green, but i dont think that is the correct shade, seems to be the popular one though.

Ive had a look through the paint code thing that ive got but Villiers is not mentioned in the list.

I think burnswark green is a bit heavy for them engines.

Would they not be painted the same colour as the equipment that they were operating?

ie, Blue engine for a Blue generator, just a thought.

yes they are painted to match the equipment but underneath mine are either satin grey PRIMER I THINK!!!
or green as if this is the colours VILLIERS send them out in .**

?????????i was thinking of spaying/painting them in austin/morris engine green what do you all think ??????

Am i right and saying the austen green was a fairly light green (mint type colour) ?

The colours that you describe they may have been used by the MoD.

I thought it was a very close colour to the wolseley wd colour

Hi Kev,

the austin colour might be along the right lines, something like light-brusnwick-green might be in the ballpark, its not as dark a colour as the mid brunswick that petter and lister use.

looks like you have a good collection of engines
i have villiers 25hs from 1956 she seems older than she looks
the pullstart pulley is marked with 8/1956 but my flywheel is brass and stamped 9/48 they are marked by punch and are OEM ON FLYWHEEL AND FUELTANK
not the normal AJH of ALL my other villiers 1960 and up any idea why this is
