March header pic

Post by RAB on Sun Feb 19 2012, 10:27

Hi all,

Anyone who has a picture that they wish to put forward for the March, please post it here and we can have a vote on it.

I will start a vote next week so please get your pics up as soon as possable.

It can also be an implement that is driven by an engine if you wish ie, a water pump, corn crusher and that type of thing.

Over the last few months weve had a few more new members join, It would be nice to see some of the engines or engine displays that you have got so please feel free to post and we look forward to seeing your stuff.

I know posting a pic here is not the easiest so i have posted a link on how to post pics below:-

http://www.stationaryengineforum.net/t2492-step-by-step-photo-upload

Hope thats of use to all.

Paul cheers cheers

No Kev they are a four stroke. To be honest I have seen it a few times (he is a member of our club) and it never seems to run that well, but probably they never did as there aren't too many about!

Pete, you want to tell the chap to rig the pump up and get it working. I had one and it would never run right until an old boy told me what to do, it ran great. Smile

Trouble is Chris that the chap who owns it is in his eighties now so isn't that bothered with it really, he has some really nice unusual engines but I guess when you get to his time of life he is quite content to just run it for a few times a day at rallies. I hope that I am still dragging engines around when I reach his age!! Wink You are quite correct in what you say though, even some of my 'common engines' run cr*p unless they have a load on them, even a waterpump will just give enough to keep them from farting about and running unevenly and it also stops the plug fouling up. I have a smallish Briggs and Stratton and that runs like a pig, but if you just hold some rag on the crank it really smooths it out.

Pete.

He wouldn't get a tank etc in his vehicle Matt, he has a new VW T5 camper and the engine sits just inside the sliding door which is a tight squeeze without damaging the furniture etc. He doesn't bring it out a lot, he usually shows either his Danish Farmers Friend engine or one of his tank cooled Petter W1's which take up less room. Last time that I saw it was at the 1000 engine rally where he ran it occasionally.

You will be Chris and mine's age a lot sooner than you think Matt, unless we hire a 'hit man' to bump off cheeky young upstarts before then of course! Cool
