the three of them together.
today was the first warm dry day for ages, so i decided to get the engines out of the shed and have a play.
i am starting to think about my next project (not an a1) something smaller and water cooled i think maybe a small stuart. anyone got any ideas.

yes they did all run together, the fowler and the 1 1/2hp petter are very quiet but the 5hp petter lets everyone know its out of the shed. R.

the tank was in very good condition, i don't think the engine has had a hard life and it has been looked after. the only thing that has been replaced from the original is the crankcase cover. R.

Re: the three of them together.
it took a long time for me to find a fowler that was in good condition, the biggest problem i had was the surfaces between the carb and the inlet elbow, when it got warm it started to leak and the engine would stop. i mated the surfaces and put a new gasket in and never had the problem again. R.

They look very smart Richard, more good work to be proud of. I think the Stuart would be a good choice but there not that small! Can't think of any small water cooled unless you go big money on an open crank. My International LB is not that big but quite heavy what about an LA or LB.

i once had a stuart turner p2/p3 (i think) with external cooling, i sold it and have regretted it ever since. it is probably the only engine that i wish i never sold. R.
