finally found my john deere model E 1 1/2hp
hi all....
well not a bad day today,so my son came over and helped me empty my engine shed.....
OMG i have 12engines in there and still 2 to come.....
well finally got to the john deere which i bought last year,it had a broken ignitor and other bits missing...
some springs are missing, but someone bodged a huge great spring on it to do the job..
well i called my local john deere stockist MR JONES and he has got them on order
need to sort the mag, again MR Joneses store for some more bits..
as you may or may not know ive already got the proper trolley from the states,so that's sorted
my son was turning it over slowly and we heard a strange noise coming from the inside..
well on closer inspection we found 1 governor weight in the sump and on of the missing springs (broken of course)
why they were in there god only knows,as the bolts were well tight to undo on the engine cover?????
well a call to MR Jones and his store sourced one for me....thanks MR Chris Jones.....you are a star.......
if you look at photo no4 of the engine cover you will see what we fished out of the bottom of the engine

yes Kev
a nice offer but i think im going to have to do it myself...
would be great if i could get someone to do them for me..would save my old bones for sure...
it mite be a new business venture for you, they bring them to you and you fix them up and then they pay you for what you have done..sounds good to me... worth a go...

Well done on finding the lost engine of the shed, now my son you need the magic spark to make it run again.
Great news that you've got that parts sorted thanks to his lordship, take your time on the re-build I think you've plenty to show for now.

Sounds like a big but manageable size Blackstone Portable oil engine. You lucky beggar. I'd love to work on something like that!
Good luck with it,

Matt

Lewis
its taken me nearly 2years to find one..
i sold my other one nearly to years ago a have regretted it ever since
theres loads over in the states 1 1/2hp, 3hp and 6hp but there bloody hard to ship back due to the import tax and VAT
other wise i would have had one long time ago....
