Re: well here she is.my r2.
I wonder how the market will change over the next few years? I have two opposing theories.
1) As more engines get discovered and restored the price of unrestored engines will rocket.
2) The more restored engines that are available the lower the price. (supply and demand)
Any body got any other ideas?

Re: well here she is.my r2.
I don't think it has anything to do with what's found/restored it's a case of more people thinking of a cheap rally ticket for the small engines as the price of them just seems to go up and up. In the past 5 years all small and medium size engines have gone up but the big engines are struggling due to having to have bigger transport needs to move them about. I think it's the price of fuel that governs what engine prices make as people don't have the spare cash to go to rallies etc.
My opinion only,

Re: well here she is.my r2.
what about the private collector with a bit of land and has a crankup of these big engines then i know a few like that have over 60 i would of though and a few are big rustons and blackstone etc ...But it shocks me sometimes how cheap they can be !

Re: well here she is.my r2.
i think matt its down to the size like.bigger transport more fuel to get them to shows & to run them for a weekend or evend nearly a week.
iv gone for smaller stuff due to health issues.but it seams the smaller the engine the bigger the price.

Dave you have hit the nail on the head !
There is not the market for the bigger engines ....one day i will have a big engine but that would be mounted on a trailer . not too big something along the lines of blackstone etc That would be a nice thing to have though .
But for now smaller engines are the way for me as go in the shed fine and around the back of the house etc .
