Lister ABL

Can't seem to find much on this engine. I know the Dursley models built 1930-38 but I need to narrow down year if possible Thanks Al.

Thanks hob I'd had looked at this site but the serial No doesn't configure on the table given, maybe its because engine was built under licence?

The site I checked out all it says is the A range was built between 1936-1966 so not a lot of help.

Well I wrote to David Edgington who kindly obliged me with the sale date and destination of the engine. It was a
1939 built Dursley air cooled engine. The original paint finish under spec plate was a metalic silver. So thats the restoration colour.

Good to hear you managed to find out some info on your engine. Al can I ask a favour, please could you write a little thank you note to David as a lot of people are taking him for granted and I've heard a thanks goes a long way with him, after all he does it for love not reward and without him we would all be desperate to get some of our information.

Stu,
In all the instances I've dealt with David I've always thanked him sincerely when asking for engine info along with of course a S.A.E. He could very easily charge for the information, so we're very lucky to have someone like him to provide us engine collectors with these details. I hope this answers your concerns.

It was a follow up letter I was meaning after he'd sent you the info, I've heard that he really likes someone bothering to reply as not very many do but you've already got that covered (knew you would have, don't know why I asked, sorry)
