Ok I think it's a compressor but can anyone confirm it as a compressor or is it a pump?
Sorry the pictures not very clear and its the only pic I have, any help greatfully received.

I would say a compresser or generator , look's like the pully as 2 V belt groves in it

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's a compressor,There used to be loads of them round here years ago.great bigguns, they used them in the mines.

They must have used them to pump fresh air down the mine, the bigger the mine the bigger the compressor.

broom and wade were well known for making pumps and composers....
could do with a better picture stu...bit fuzzy....or do i need to go to specsavers....lol...lol

They used to make Vacum pumps as well,
i used to have one till it got in my way and sold it.

Mike I think the pic has faded with age, this post was started in 2009 lol! lol! lol! someone dug it up again.
