Stuart turner twin water pump.

Post by ells engines on Thu Nov 22 2012, 15:03

Hi guys,

Had this pump a while now and did start restoring it but everything came to a halt once girlfriends came along and driving etc. after a day at enstone I was spurred on to get it finished. I could never get the front plate off but remembered once I tucked it away it had wd-40 on it so now I went back to it and off it came with ease. So anyway I stripped it down and have now stripped it to bare metal and given it one coat of primer so far will do another at the weekend and design a base.

Some pics to keep you interested.....

Stripped back...

Primed....

And yes I painted in the kitchen! Lol too cold outside and dad was away for the weekend... Perfect!

Stay tuned for updates

Cheers,
Elliot

Glad to see you've not forgotten us Elliot and still up to the old tricks of using the kitchen when no one around as if we'd do that Laughing Laughing Laughing
That's a nice looking pump are you going to keep it once restored or sell it ?
How many engines have you now and do you get chance to rally these days?

Stu.

Stu,

Plan to keep it as not really seen a twin Stuart pump on the rally field. Am also working on a h1 pump at the moment. My mate machined loads of bits on that and made a new piston and cross shaft from stainless steel. Got a 1930 ihc m type 1 1/2hp 1920 2 1/4 amanco hired man petrol parrafin and a 1932 shaft drive lister d that used to be on a winget mixer. Still got my first engine villiers mark 10 aswell. Erm done a few not too many. Next year am off to nuenen for the show in holland, hopefully barley lands, possibly welland a few local one day do's at crossness pumping station Merton farm in Canterbury will probably be our first of the year over may bank holiday.

Hope all is well, am busy at work on the tube at the moment Laughing

Great to hear you've still got some spare time for your engines, you need to get your girlfriend a small engine give her something of interest then you can rally together. Good to hear you've still got all your engines even your old Villiers. Very Happy
Sounds as if your going to have a few good rallies next year, please try and remember to take your camera to Nuenen and post the pics on here for us guys that's to far away to get there.

Stu.

Will do mate, I'm afraid the girlfriend isn't interested at all, meh doesn't bother me Laughing

Should have my shed built soon been going on long enough now!

Will put a thread up for the h1 this weekend that's all complete just needs a better gear guard made for it.
