ok got me a wolseley as per:

one other thing I picked up on is the impulse on the lucas sr1 mag doesn't work, anybody know how they work before I pull it apart? Very Happy

Sometimes they just need lubricating, the one on my Petter didn't work so I kept spraying WD40 or similar into it and eventually with rotating it the mechanism freed off. There is a coil spring and a couple of weights inside and the weights get stuck up with congealed oil that lodges there. Earth the HT lead when you spin the mag or it could damage the coil.

and if you decide to remove the end moving bit on the mag be careful as the spring is strong and can send bits flying into the deepest of dark places in a workshop/garage/lounge..and they can be fun getting back together but not impossible just fiddly holding the spring in place while trying to do up the nut..

FUDGE IT!!!! there are no springs...........
anyone have any drawings anywhere that show the impulse and how it should look?

I spent 5 weeks touring France with a small tent, & believe me, you can still lose things in small tents! Mad
