Ryan If you want it to stay good and looking nice its worth the wait to let it harden off Smile

I use Polyurathane.

Gives a really nice glossy finish and dries fairly quickly, but is an absolute B--ch if you get petrol on it an leave it.

You have to wipe any petrol off straight away or it just peels.

Mart.

On the last engine i painted i sprayed it and used Cellulose, which is great if you want fast drying, however, beware, Cellulose reacts with contaminants, other paint, and wrong type thinners, so you must get everything right first, after that, it will dry very very fast (10 minutes per coat. tops) and harden nicely

Rome was not built in a day, you have to sort your self out Ryan
1 Strip everything down
2 Clean everything in degreaser
3 Shot blast or wire brush all bits to be painted
4 Prime with Red Oxide or primer
5 Clean and wire brush everything else nuts bolts clean carb, mag.
6 Top coat leave to dry
7 Make gasgets.
8 Start making a trolly
9 start re assembling after paint as hardened off 3 to 4 weeks
10 Start up and enjoy for many years to come
