Entrys for Miss March

Post by RAB on Sun Feb 03 2013, 11:53

Hi all,

A good response to last months vote both of pictures and votes, good to see people having there say.

Anyone who has a picture that they wish to put forward for this month, please post it here and we can have a vote on it.

Over the last few months weve had a few more new members join, It would be nice to see some of the engines or engine displays that you have got, so please feel free to post and we look forward to seeing your stuff.

I know posting a pic here is not the easiest so i have posted a link on how to post pics below:-

http://www.stationaryengineforum.net/t2492-step-by-step-photo-upload

Can i also ask that only landscape pictures are used.

Hope thats of use,

Paul

I love those dishpan flywheels Stu, dunno why, call me strange but I always preferred them to spoked wheels on the small open (& enclosed) crank engines.

I agree, they look great on a smaller unit.

i guess the reason for being solid was that being a smaller flywheel did not weigh as much so needed to be solid to bring weight up for the mo mention

They were also much cheaper & easier to cast than spoked wheels, & easier to balance up as well. Less likely to crack during manufacture or transit as well.

I reckon that little engine will look great with any style of flywheel, but that's not denying the dished wheels make it stand out even more. I've never seen one in Australia.
Must say I'd be happy to own any of the engines put up for Miss. March.
Makes me want to grow my little collection.

I'm not that keen on the dished flywheel, I've a couple of engines with them and I'd rather have the normal spoked flywheels, look alot better IMO.

No probs Lewis, just I've not seen one of these running before so a video would be great just when you have time.

How do I vote?

Post by glowes3 on Thu Mar 14 2013, 06:55

At the risk of sounding stupid, could someone tell me how to vote for the monthly engines?
I went to the post that lets you vote but nothing I clicked on seemed to register my vote.
Thanks

Voting for miss march has closed now, When voting for April starts its posted for the last week of march in a view for posting it in the first Sunday of April.

When the vote goes up its at the top of the post, you click on the option you want to see at the forum header then i think its "place vote" that should be your vote cast.

Have a look at the post below:-

http://www.stationaryengineforum.net/t6447-have-to-show-you

This vote is live so have a go at this one and you will see how it works.

Hope that helps,
Paul

I'm always missing it Graeme, so you're not the only one. I even missed the vote when my own engine was in the running! Rolling Eyes

I know, but there wasn't a vote on that. Good job too, by the looks of it, as I probably would've forgotten.
