hammer mill info needed

Post by davelister on Sat Feb 09 2013, 20:27

hi all.im new to this forum(first day!) ive recently purchased an old and rusty hammer mill but dont know who made it. the hopper says "the lightning hammer mill" on it but it took some gentle wire wooling to find it.there are some other remains of lettering but too far gone to get anything from it. im trying to find out who made it so i can restore it and paint it to orignal. if any one knows anything about this please please let me know.ive trudged through google but cant find anything (theres a company called lightning crushers but its not them) hope you can help guys.

It would be a shame to loss the writing, if you take a pic to a grafix shop they might be able to replicate it. I try some WD40 as kev says or some thin oil see if you can find some more details. Some of these type of machines were just knocked together by the local blacksmith but this looks mass produced with it having the name on it.

Good luck in the search,

Stu.

there is no "S" there, just an "L" I am sure it says "The Lightning Hammer Mill", still gives no usable results on the net though

Stu, are you looking on a phone or on the computer?
The only reason I ask is because I can't see Nutgone's latest pictures when I look at the forum on my phone but this has only happened in the last few days. I can see the pictures on this thread right now, but I'm on the computer at the moment.
