A trick a friend does with modern alternators and dynamos is to find an old motor, strip out the insides and mount the dynamo inside the casing, voila, one old looking dynamo.

that is exactly what i was going to say make the alternator look like an older 12v dynomo or single phase 110-120v or 230-240v mains dyno
thats all that could be done to me mate
i like the engine paint job and nice little trolley, top job done there mate ,id be proud of it if she was in my collection
keep it up and wait for the next project to appear Smile
