Ruston PT And Lister D

Post by Hughesy on Sun Apr 07 2013, 18:09

Hello All

I have recently just finished restoring a ruston pt and a lister d.

The ruston is in original paintwork and has been boiled linseed oiled. the engine runs nicely.

The lister d has had a full strip down and a fresh coat of paint. Was originally supplied to drake and flethcher on there pumpsets.
Runs very nicely. Need to change the tap as it leaks quite bad hence the bucket.

Both these engines shall be for sale at enstone this coming weekend.

Many Thanks For Looking

Lewis

I have to many other engines I will show and these just wont get out unfortunately.

So i have enough to keep my busy . Oh and then there various pumps that need doing and a cattle cake breaker than needs a trolley too ...

Famous last words Matt. You know when you say stuff like that something will turn up that's just too good to pass on!

Nice engines Lewis, although I don't think the Ruston is original paint, it still looks good. That first pic looks like you've painted it anyway, I would never have known if you hadn't said.

The engine went to a company 3 miles from my house where I purchased it. The engine run between
1945 and 1948 and was then then to small. This was when they bought my turner diesel. So since then it never got run and stayed in the same barn as I bought it not seeing daylight for over 50 years.

I suppose when you look at it yes. The engine runs nicely. The petrol system wasn't there when I purchased the engine. As it had a petrol tank mounted on the wall made out of a antifreeze can.
