Well, she has all been cleaned of all the baked on sawdust and crap that was all over it, petrol tank needs repairing, have cleaned the hopper out, sorted the carb and cleaned it, I managed to machine up a drive dog for the mag the other day, but the holes in the bracket need elongating so the BTH mag I have will bolt down onto the platform, earlier I filled the carb with petrol, g clamped the mag on Embarassed Embarassed and she ran very nicely for a minute or so till she ran out of petrol, trolley is awful though!

Now on a nice new 'rusic' trolley and she ran for about an hour the other day until the petrol tank began to leak Twisted Evil , the carb was all very warped and had to be skimmed to bring the mating surfaces back right again, and it was hunting very badly, after hours of tweaking it is now running very smoothly and is happy running at a rally friendly speed now, need to repair the fuel tank, make a proper fuel pipe and fit the rather OTT brass points cover i machined for the mag, and she will be allrite I reckon!

Matt

possibly, have 101 other things to get sorted before then, boats, vans, houses, gardens, caravans, boat trailers etc, will probably take the Petter as she hasn't been out for 2 or 3 years

I think il be taking the A type, but still got to finish building my display yet as its not finished waiting for some pipe fittings to arrive, typical all big plumbing suppliers in Swindon don't stock iron pipe fittings now Shocked cross fingers should be done this week. matt

Great runner Matt, a nice looking engine that should get some interest at rallies. I'm like you and have to take different engines to rallies then when you do a few local small rallies at least you should have something different to see.

Here is a better video

Quick run this afternoon, apologies for the quality

has a couple of water leaks to sort out and it keeps dribbling petrol out of the air intake

Lovely engine, are you just going to put the oily rag over her or are you going to restore her. Very Happy I'm guessing its a French engine

Must try and get this engine sorted soon, still some annoying water leaks and we need a way to hold my nice points cover on, got loads of engine work to do, need to sort this out, then sort out the Japy Trolley and the crank end float on her, build a trolley for the Lister F, put a new coil in the Ruston PB and get the magneto for the Fowler done, along with working on the van, boat etc...
