i have an AVA1 series 1 ava as far as i can find out it was built in 1948/49,i believe it was a test engine,it has been reconditioned by petter ithink around 1950 but it has a recon engine number of 800415s so a very early one to have gone back for recon it was changed to direct injection at the time of recon the engine dateing sites say they went to general release in 51 starting at 8ooooo if so am i right in my thinking its a test engine and what does the s in the number mean,jim perkins seems to think its a very rare beast but didnt mention what the s stands for
