I would paint it, I think them little pumpsets look great all bright and shiny.

As it's all complete, original and running, I'd leave it alone. Just give it a good clean and a wipe over with an oily rag.

your engine mate
its what you want it to be for making you happy with it
but if you oily rag it ,slip the cowling off again and get the air baffles coated to and in the very bottom as this is were the tin worm gets stuck into the cowlings on all aircooled villiers and many others as the sucked in dust and dirt starts to shotblast the paint away over time and difficult areas for the paint to get into
