after 4 coats of red oxide .... god knows why ended up being 4 apart from that i wanted to get the hopper smooth so plenty of wet and dry and flattening then recoating , even used a mini gloss roller .

started to get some green on now ... 2nd coat has been put on tonight the 1st coat was done around 8pm yesterday so was not hardened just about touch dry but still slightly tacky to adhere to .

Doing the inside of crankcase 1st then moving onto the rest otherwise as i found out with red oxide you get paint all over your hands arms etc .

new one is being made from scratch ... a friend of mine has the wheels where being drilled and bushed as we speak . Axle blocks been made too , got the steel for the handles and ordered a bottle of MAPP gas to heat and bend the flat bar . Pictures will follow when do the bending .

None of my engine trolleys have or will be made from softwood as in my view its pointless and even though it been varnished as son as you bump it thats it its chipped and a chunk of the wood missing .

I will be oiling the wood rather than varnishing
