I felt sorry for this old lump at the rally I was at this weekend so it followed me home, has very good original paint and a nicely repaired frost patch, which I always like to keep, sadly it sounds very clonky when turned over, and has no compression, but I like em rough:rofl: will clean up quite nicely after a strip and rebuilt, and will be paired with a lister shearer, if anyone wants the pump and base then bid me for it, as I only want the engine! turns out its a 1929 model making it older than me other one, I don't think it is the original engine for the milking set

The plan is to set it all up on a trolley the same as the other shafty D I have, which is a 1931 model, with my other shearer, had a bit of a mock up on another trolley I have up for sale, and I think it will look quite good, I have sourced a petrol tank, but would like a narrow type silencer to match the other one....

Right guys, I have just got the head and cover plates etc stripped off her, bore is perfect, big end seems OK, and so do the mains, she only seemed tight as the bore was so dry, not a speck of oil on there, I am going to whip the piston out and decoke it, and take the main bearing housing etc off with the flywheel, as I don't think the mains really need replacing, clean everything, then slap it back together with a new head gasket and new gaskets all round, and my spare magneto, and I think that's about all there will be to it, oh and a new trolley:cheers:cheerscheers
