hi, Matt, sorry for the delay,,, as you can see by the pic's  most of it there, there must be a bit to the front,,, and on the back , but not know what is missing and the symbol, of an 'f' is the only marking, , which I am sure I have seen on the site some where,  see what you think.

It looks to me as if it should have a section from where casting ends at the top, to the flange with an angled opening where you can safely sharpen an object., meaning it was totally enclosed with an opening for use. I have seen something like this b4, but many years ago. cheers David.
