I am trying to buy a rugby top advertised on flea-bay but I missed the auction and the engine was not sold so have contacted the seller
it is for £240 and needs some attention , question is are the parts available or do I have to make them .
thank you for looking and any educated comments welcome

Looks like a bit of a mess to me, especially the crank, or it has had a very hard life. Missing mag and gear is going to set you back another £100+ as well, not to mention the exhaust silencer if you can find one. Plus no mention of the state of the bearings (always check these on a Petter M before buying). Plenty of better examples around to spend your money on if you're not in a hurry. £240 for this is (in my opinion) too much, which is why it didn't sell. Buyer beware !

cheers bc - maybe suit someone who already has one and has the spares. would make a good project - maybe make them an offer knowing the cost you will need to spend on it.

Far too much for what is a pretty well battered engine, plenty more fish in the sea and all that

£240 for that is about £200 over priced in my opinion, by the time you get a mag, exhaust, oiler and sort the crank out that would make that a £500+ engine, lot of money for a little "M".

I got a reply back after four days and asked the guy if I could give a deposit through pay-pal banking but have not heard anything since
sorting the crank and other metal jobs are no problem
seems very rude but after seeing comments on here I think the guy can keep it
thanks
