hello all

I have Been making a new trolley for the Ottawa the last couple of days. I got given some old oak that was going to be thrown in the skip the other day, Was part of an old conservatory.

I have test fitted the engine on the trolley today and am rather happy with the result

The wood shall be dried out thoroughly now and then yacht varnished

The engine has been boiled linseed oiled and has bought out a fair amount of original paint work

I am now undecided on what to do with the wheels clean them and apply an oily rag or paint them black

Hi Lewis,
Very nice looking set up there.
Is that a wooden pulley on the engine? If so what wood is it made out of? It looks a nice piece of turning - did you do it?
Kev.

Yes its wooden made of a hardwood and that's an original fitment to the engine, in the centre its been bored out to take a steel insert with a key way in it and then has a nut and bolt on the end.

I'll get some up close pictures in the week

Lewis
