3 1/2 HP FAIRBANKS MORSE Z

Hi all, not a new project as got it last summer but decided I wanted a break from the bruiser so I started work on the FBM Z. I was playing with the idea of looking at it last week but decided against it, but did check the mag and there was a shock (hopefully I don't need to explain how I did it, well all i'm going to say is the shock was bigger than I thought it was going to be!!! ).

Anyway I checked the spark today and there wasn't one, so I checked the plug and it was fine, then decided it might be the HT Leaad, wasn't that so then decided i'd put a wee bit on the stak, cut a long story short it was the points.

Then I cleaned the carb out of rust, put it back on and then went for the jerry can! it didn't start:(   but it did smoke:)  I need to get a big dog food can as it leaks fuel when starting (deliberately I hope( should be as a mates engine does the same)

Hope to get it started during the week if I get time...

here is a video of it running, sorry for the background noise, also its restricted too a short run as there is no petrol tank yet

after taking it to a show last weekend and getting it to run properly, we discovered that it need a check valve in the fuel line, but other than that it should be a nice runner!
