J.A.P ENGINE
can anyone please help i have got a jap 150cc model 3 engine only numbers i can find are 3D/702/1 anyone know what these mean please. thank you

I have a Reference Manual for JAP "stationary" Industrial Engines, but it covers 4 stroke Models 4, 5 & 6. I can't remember the 2 stroke model numbers. Is yours 2 stroke?
The pattern of numbers looks similar to what is stamped in the top of the crankcase on the above 4 strokes. If they are similar, I think they are 3 = model, D = 1934, the rest I'm not sure about, maybe sub model and/or serial number. I'd be interested in what ever anyone else can add.

heres your 3d/702/1 broke down for you
3 = model
D = YEAR either 1934 , 1954 (but the year production runs from I.E , sept 1953 to sept 1954, the letters always runs in 20 yrs cycles
and im thinking that there production was later than 1934 .
702 = engine number
1 = the spec or factory mods so this is standard
