Ruston Hornsby AP timing
Hi all.
Can you please help me, I need to make a new trip arm end for the low tension flick mag on my 5hpAP.
Can someone tell me when should the trip fire? TDC or earlier? Are there any timing markings?
Many thanks,
Karl.

Re: Ruston Hornsby AP timing
I'd think 20 degrees before TDC same as a high tension mag Karl. Do't forget it's where it trips and not the point where the arm comes into contact. Not sure if it's like the BPR, they have spring steel fingers fitted to the arm that alters the timing when it's running.

Thanks for that! It's along the lines of what I was thinking.
Mine being a earlier model has a start/run setting So that's how the timing alters!
Cheers,
Karl.
