Trailer mounted engine display
Towards the end of last year I started to get really fed up of having to pack up and unload all the milking gear, so I decided I would like to trailer mount it all
I just won this trailer cheaply on ebay and will pick it up next weekend, it already has a hefty plywood floor and levelling jacks, so it is halfway there and just needs a roof and sides really, but I am not sure of the best way to make the roof at the moment
Plan is to chop and change the display a bit, and fit it on there, I have a 1933 shafty Lister D that will go on there, along with a vertical Godwin pump, and it is finally going to get a coat of paint so it all matches, the vacuum pump is all working just needs masking up, going over with the needle gun and a coat of paint, the Godwin pump is in pieces waiting for me to make some new rams for it, new washers which are made, and new crank bearings and paint, and the engine runs ok but big end requires attention, will hopefully get it all done for this season, it is going to make travelling to rallies even more difficult but I would like to show off my dairy collection still, and not have it filling up the van! So that's now a van and caravan, milking display, and 2 tractors to get about

That's one reason why my dairy stuff rarely sees daylight now Matt, I got fed up with loading it all up in the pi**ing rain while my neighbour, with an engine and waterpump, has loaded up ages ago and is probably halfway home! Good luck with the trailer.

Matt you'll have to be careful with the weight as it looks like an unbraked trailer or do I spy a handbrake on the hitch?. I'd also check the ply/weight allowance for them tyres.
Maybe with all your gear you need something a little bigger?

Picked the trailer up yesterday, but unfortunately it is probably going to need a new floor as the current one is a bit ripe....
got both pumps in primer now, but will leave topcoating until its a bit warmer

Hiya Stu, yeah I will either use plywood or scaffold boards, depending on what I can get hold of on the cheap!
Im also thinking of moving the Bed of the trailer forward a foot and a half or so to make the thing a bit shorter, while the old floors off I am going to weld a couple of extra crosspieces under the floor, that the engine can bolt through, both pumps are now painted and nearly finished, then I can start on the engine, I also picked up a Villiers lighting dynamo, and a Stuart P3 the other day that I may use to run the lights, so we can have lights in the evenings without a milking machine droning away, the P3 has severe frost damage right down the side of the block, but was a runner until about 5 years ago, but it was cheap!
