Corn crusher

Hi people. Have just acquired an old corn crusher to run with my lister d. The crusher had been converted to run off an electric motor with v belts and pullys. I want to get it back to a flat belt. Anyone know what size pully I should have on the engine and the corn crusher?

A good question Squire,

I've used a number of calcultors on the web before - you kind of have to play with them (as in the figures for diameters that you use) according to the pulleys and belts you have available - but it saves time on settin gup your equipment every time..

http://www.csgnetwork.com/pulleybeltcalc.html

there are others... but this worked for me ( I googled "flat belt and pulley calculators")

There will be a few combinations that will suit..and no doubt some of the boys and girls on here will have a straight answer... which I cant help you with Smile

Let us all know how you get on.

Best

Hi,
I have a Corbetts corn mill hooked up to a Lister D and have a 5" pulley on the 'D' and a 8.5" on the mill( the one that the mill came with).
I think that the general idea is to get the mill running at 4-500 rpm.
As Hamish says there are a number of calculators arround but the above works ok for me.
All the best,

Kev.
