Dear forum members,

During the cleaning operation of the mositure vessel (Dutch "vochtvanger")
I've tried to figure out how this component should operate. See some pictures below

Surprisingly the vessel is completely empty and at the bottom there is a cover with only one hinge.
It seems there is nothing of a clamp or closure visible to hold the cover in place.
The cover has a rubber ring at the inside; so it is meant to be closed I guess.

Do I miss a particular part? As far as I can see there are no remainings of weldings or damages at the bottomside.
Hope there is a dairy farmer who can explain to me how this vessel should work.

I guess that you mean the 'waste trap' which is the container used to prevent any milk etc from entering the vacuum pump? If so then it will probably have a flap on the bottom to let any waste fall out when the machine is turned off, when you start it again the vacuum in the system will suck the flap closed again to seal it.

Pete.
