Lister D 1938 Reverse rotation my contribution to a oily rag restoration
I got this Lister D the other day, supplied new to Winget Ltd Rochester Kent and was owned by D Morris Evercreech Somerset
It was last weekend seized and now today finished putting her back together again after new exhaust valve a good clean up some new gaskets
which I made myself apart from the head gasket, some nice clean oil and very happy with the way its running.
I missed out on the worsley but got D and the 2 pumps.

Hello Rich - thats a great looking set up you have there - I hope it brings you a lot of happiness! let us all know if you head to any rally.
You had a quick turnaround from the unit being seized - what was the cause? - I have friend in a similar situation and we're going down the route of buckets of diesel in the bore through the plug....

Hi the only thing I did not mention in the other post, is, the oil diesel mix and Gt85 that was left on top of piston I put a piece of kitchen towel in it and set fire to it until in had burned away, I had heard that this does work, well a good clout with wood and lump hammer
and it was free, I think there was a lot of luck involved in it, now it has good compression and runs well, better with a load on flywheel though, even running the Blake pump was not enough load, have you seen video I put on here of it running and pump working.

Just found it Squire! - and very nice to hear it running so well - the Blake performs well by the looks of it - so all in all a good find. I will heed your council on the oil rag GT85 method and tell my friend to stop delaying
