1938 Lister D Reverse rotation

Post by rich07961 on Thu Jun 18 2015, 20:03

I got this Lister D the other day, supplied new to Winget Ltd Rochester Kent and was owned by D Morris Evercreech Somerset who I got the D
and pumps from one is a Blake pump as big as the D and a lister 1 1/2  pump they will be another topic.
The D was completely seized and the coil was shot, I have used one from a spare wipac I had on my A1,I have spent a little time getting it free also I have had it running,
pretty good compression too considering the valve seats were well pitted and no blue smoke either, have cleaned up head and fitted a new exhaust valve for now.
I am also thinking, as it has a lot of paint showing will only do an oily rag restoration.

Gases should flow a lot better now.

Now not sure what to do about bore as I said it had good compression, have asked this question in another post.
