Got the Blake pump fitted to trolley today, so I decided to make up pipe work and thanks to my 92 year old neighbour
have got a aluminium bucket, need to make a base for bucket and clean up pipework and brass etc. I am also not sure what to do about bucket
do I paint it or just clean up aluminium and paint handles, any suggestions are welcome.
I am hoping to have it all ready for next month to attend my first rally.

Spent a bit of time this morning cleaning pipework and brass fittings and painting pulley on pump.

Your aluminium bucket would appear to be a cooking utensil, possibly a jam kettle for boiling fruit in jam making. I would leave it aluminium and polish it, maybe paint the iron handle black....

Taken your idea on board and had a go at polishing this afternoon and am pleased with results so far, its going to take a while to do but well worth it.

That aluminium bucket is looking good, mind you don't end up with polishers elbow though! Laughing
It may pay you to make some sort of bracket to hold the delivery pipe up though. It'll stop it vibrating and loosening the fitting at the pump end.

Guess I'm lucky I bought a polishing kit a few years ago to polish my exhausts on motorbike so hardly used but has certainly come in handy now, just put pads on drill and away you go.

Another step forward, made a base for the bucket and lucky or not, had to clear out a loft this week and found a top of a trolley,
gave it a polish today and this is what it will look like when I get a chance to display, I wanted to go to a display next month but not getting any response from my emails at mo from organisers at rally s, maybe me being impatience. Just need to paint handles black.

love the polished aluminium pan, it really looks the business. I'm not to sure about the polished trolley top though. The whole set-up looks well thought out and engineered, hope you enjoy your first rally. Where are you going?

Dont forget your sunglasses Smile - if only to protect yourself from all that bright work!!

What a great set up - nice job squire. Are you going to have an info board for the likes of me who know nothing?

enjoy your rally experience!

best

Hi Bob and Hamish,

As to trolley top do you think probably to much bling/over the top, I am applying for The Bridgewater Classic Vehicle and
hopefully more local, the Fairford steam rally just need to ring Reg White.

Hamish I will be making a board up for the Lister D but do not know anything about the Blake as it has no info plate, so I'm
hoping someone will put me right at the rally.I do hope there will be sunshine on the days and luckily I have reactive glasses

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say squire - its not for me to judge - if you're happy then that's all that matters Smile - Just more polishing for you and as I may be speaking for a few of us on here it doesn't take long at rally's to see someone's other designs before you copy or change yours as time gores on,

Info boards for Blakes are thin on the ground - I've seen the pumps but not the info - you'll do well to find some help on here and display it - and I'm sure it will be appreciated!

Best

Blake spares are still available, at a price of course.
http://www.amospumps.com/eolblake.html

The company is still trading and I believe that they can provide information on the older pumps and, at least until a few years ago, kept some spares for them.
