Tiny Tim spark plug.

Post by Locknut on Fri Oct 23 2015, 15:50

Hi All,
Can anyone kindly let me know what the correct spark plug for the Tiny Tim engine is please? I am restoring 2 - one has a Champion L86C and the other has a short reach NGK BM6A! Thank you.

All the best,

Kev.

Hi Kev,

You can, if you join up, download a pdf manual from here:

Hi kev you could also try these http://www.gsparkplug.com/ as they supply good quality plugs for most stationary engines.

Thanks for your replies guys,
Paul- thanks for that,I have downloaded the manuals from another site but to be honest for restoration purposes they are not much better than a chocolate fireguard! and apart from mentioning plug gap dont give anymore details!
Rich - I was hoping to contact that supplier after I had found out the type of plug that I needed - the engine is an American one with an "L" head, and dates back to the early 1940's and is ,I believe, not a commonly seen one.
All the best,
Kev.

Hi All,
Just an update for all Tiny Tim owners ( both present and future),I have been told,on an American engine site, that the plug required is either a Champion Y8( UY6) or a Champion J8 - owners have used both to good effect - even though one is a 10mm and the other a 14mm.
All the best,
Kev.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for that - the American boys didn't mention that one,so it appears thats another plug that will work with the Tiny Tim engine.
All the best,
Kev.
