Villiers MK20/25.Front Cowl.

Hi, I have a MK25 V Engine the front cowl the round piece with holes in where the fan draws air in to keep it cool is missing,I have thought maybe i could make one out of mesh has anyone done this and if so where would i source the mesh,any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi I actually have a spare one if you want it, will need a good sand down and paint, PM me with your address and will send it to you
Just need to cover postage, do not want anything for part.

Just noticed this old post. Do you still have the front (fan) cowl - if so, is it the rather larger diameter one for the V engine?

Hi Paul long gone now, have had a good clear out and only have a few engines left that I really like or want, all my Villiers parts have gone.

I am looking for the same mesh disc where the engine fan draws air it is the larger diameter one,and like you i am thinking that i may have to make one i would just have to source some suitable mesh.

If I can't come up with anything better I'll probably use aluminium sheet and use a chassis punch to cut the smaller holes and settle for it being flat rather than pressed. Just trying to track down a local supplier as I got well and truly ripped off last time I bought from t'interweb.

I have just seen on line that Wickes have mesh panels 600mmx900mmx6mm mesh size panels at£6.00 each they are galvanised so if they need any bits soldering on it will have to be done outside as heating galvanised metal gives off toxic fumes.
