Hi to all,
I'm Neil, 52 from Chelmsford Essex.
I've always liked looking at and listening to engines at farm shows, country fairs, often fancied one of my own,
There's something about the sound and mechanical movement.
If anyone can point me in the direction of a simple affordable project (maybe more of a clean & paint job) to start me off that'd be cool.

Cheers All.

Hi Mate,

If you put a post in the Engine wanted section someone may be able to point you in the right direction. Failing that ebay.

Hi and welcome as Paul says ebay is a good start, if you have Facebook why not join some of the stationary engines groups
like stationary engines for sale there are always some for sale of all sorts, will depend on what you want to spend and how big an engine you want, but if you are like most of us one will not be enough as its definitely addictive.

Hi Neil and welcome.
I started with a Villiers.
They often come up on e-bay, light enough to get on the bench without lifting tackle and spares are readily available. The one thing to look for is a spark! Most of the ones I've restored had a duff magneto coil and the genuine article is expensive though I have had success with cheaper Taiwanese copies.
