Could someone tell me what the thread is on the thumb nuts for a WICO/WIPAC Series A magneto - its difficult to measure. I'm guessing not metric and I've tried UNF spark plug nuts. The diameter seems about right but jams after a couple turns so maybe wrong pitch?

Hi Stuart,

Don't have the nut and trying to measure the screw in the magneto is tricky. Have tried BA without success.

Is it this type?

If it is, I can take the "nut" off mine a try to match a pin/bolt to it to work out the thread.

Think the general opinion is it is a cycle thread.

Well they are a tricky one to measure. best I could do was 0.17" OD and high 20's pitch, had to give in due to frozen fingers Very Happy

Try 3/16'' x 26tpi. This is British standard brass thread. Seem to remember that it is the thread for the mag top connection. Or poss the next size down.
