Hi, I am a volunteer at Pearns Steam World at Westbury Tasmania and we are restoring a Bentalls Corn and Seed Crusher. We have little information on this piece of equipment and I am wondering if anyone can help with possible date of manufacture or any other information.

Hi Jim and welcome to the forum. Good luck with your project. Can't help with a date but I'm sure someone else will.

They are listed here in 1862: https://www.gracesguide.co.uk/1862_London_Exhibition:_Catalogue:_Class_IX.:_Edward_Hammond_Bentall

However, I would imagine they were produced over a long period with little, if any, change.

If you are that serious about a date then you might possibly contact the Museum of English Rural Life, they might be able to help you or point you in the right direction.
