JAP Model 3 Empty JAP Model 3

Post by Rookesy Sat Sep 17 2022, 21:47

Does anyone have a JAP Model 3, not the Alco one but the one that is identical too the Briggs and Stratton Model A and I think is sometimes called a late model 3. I have a Model A and the Flo Jet carb is beyond redemption. I have seen a couple of pictures of the JAP but it is hard to see what carb is fitted because the air filter blocks it. I am looking to use whatever is fitted on the JAP as a replacement, can someone tell me what the carb it is please.
Thanks in anticipation
Regards
Mick

Folks, I've done some more searching and it could be a model 4 industrial engine that I am looking for. It seems to be the version that predates the 4/2 and 4/3 and is bigger than a 4F.

According to the manual I have the Model 3 was fitted with a Zenith 13.TC-2 with slight variations depending on if your are running petrol or paraffin.

This is what I have, the brass plate is missing off the side of the casing and I haven't taken it off to get to the Serial Number
