Chinese single cylinder horizontal Diesels

What do you think of the specs on these engines , spec plates on them claim 20, 30 even 40 kw from a single cylinder at about 2000 rpm, I don't see how ?

About 27 to 53 HP. Chinese horses must be smaller.
