Petter av2 restoration
Afternoon all I've started the restoration of my petter av2 it had been left out in the elements for years causing it to seize I managed to get the one cylinder free but the other one not a chance so stripped it down and filled the bore with diesel to soak, both water jackets had suffered from the frost which will be repaired at a later date

I'm just waiting for parts to finish the av1 off, I'm surprised how decent the parts are on the av2 I've managed to save the injectors

Re: Petter av2 restoration
A update on the av2, I've taken the chain drive sprocket off the starting shaft which enabled me to inspect the timing gears and governor which are in perfect condition and the governor works lovely , I've then cleaned up the timing cover casing , I've inspected the frost damage on block 2 stripped the paint back to get it ready to take to get repaired as cast welding isn't my speciality, I've scraped and cleaned the sump out the oil had turned to a layer of hard muck on the bottom but persistence and abit of swearing soon sorted that job out so I then decided to mock up the injector pumps to make the pump joiner which will be a nice brass strip, after I finished sorting that out I thought it was time to start painting it first in grey primer and then last night on with the first coat of mid Brunswick green I'm happy how the first coats turned out, the next jobs on it will be to take the rings off and inspect them clean the ring groves out and check the tolerances on the gudgen pin Bush, and to try and free cylinder 1 piston which is still soaking in diesel hopefully with abit of heat thrashing and probably multiple swear words that might teach the neighbor's some new colourful words Haha it should come free to inspect then it will be time to build it back up and hopefully running.

Coming along nicely.
Your shed looks about as tidy as mine!! I hope Neil(LE) doesn't come to do an inspection or we're both in for a roasting.
