Running a DK on neat heating oil?
Hi,
I am new to staionary engines but want to make a crude combined heat and power system for my shed. I have 500 litres of heating oil to use up. Can I run it neat after switching over from petrol when hot or do I have to add something else
Guidance appreciated!
Chris

Re: Running a DK on neat heating oil?
hi Chris...
i have a 2 1/2 hp witte that is a petrol/paraffin,it runs on paraffin really well....
when i was showing at dorset steam fair last week some people said that thay use kerosene or tvo...
ii have a mate that runs his amanco p/p on 50/50 half kerosene half petrol...
you may need to add a small measure of petrol to help it burn....
is your a proper dk or is it one that's been converted
if its been converted it wont do it any good....
hope this helps....regards....mike..
PS...I'm sure you will get some more info from other people on here...

Thanks Mike
Thanks Mike,
I am still establishing exactly what I have. I think it is a DK which has been stripped of the vapouriser as it was only run on petrol at shows.
I will be experimenting over the next few weeks so I'll keep you updated as to how it goes!
