Original Lister D Empty Original Lister D

Post by Hughesy Sat Mar 03 2012, 12:47

Hello All
Started the restoration on my Lister D last week, Engine was bought form cheffins collective sale last year and has stood since i bought it home. The engine was covered in a thick layer of mud and general grime. after pressure housing revealed the original paint and some transfers. so i have decided to linseed oil the engine.

Have so far put 1 coat of linseed oil on and its bought the paint work up well. should i put another coat of linseed oil once dry or is one coat enough?

Heres a few pictures of the engine at present.

Paint is in good nick, must have been all the crud on it that's kept it so good. Good luck with the rebuild and thanks for posting the pics.
