Amazing what you can pick up on your way to Lidls! Very Happy

She is a burg supreme 1hp (?) from the 20's/30's , managed to get her going but needs a bit of tweaking

Apparantly is it Bullock Supreme, but now the mag appears to have packed up, which may have been why she stopped Yesterday!

What a pretty little engine, looks a bit like a Stuart Turner, definitley has that "Marine Engine" look about it.

I'm insanely jealous! lol!

What a shame you've got mag trouble. Most of the time just a dismantle, clean up, reassemble & points set-up does the trick, but it does seem to be mag season lately. My brother's Stuart Turner is having major mag troubles, & it was the lack of a spark which kicked off my impromptu Tarpen restoration (I just hope the mag actually works on that one, when it's all back together).

So, what's your plans with this particular engine then? Might make a nice little generator engine???

hopefully she will have enough grunt to run the dairy gear, if not she will be a car boot engine on a little plinth!

Oh wait, I dont actually have a car! only a girt van

Hope you manage to get the mag sorted ok as it's a nice little engine and I think must be a bit rare.

Stu.

Have found the problem with the mag, the points are very unusual, inside the back of the mag there is a ring with a step which goes halfway round, which works like a cam as the points rotate, and there is meant to be a piece of bakelite which hits the step, but it looks like a bit has come off, probably why it stopped!

What I plan to do is file the bakelite back flat, then stick a little piece of circuitboard to it to make up the difference

I hope that works for you Matt, typical a few pence stopping an engine running.

Stu.

Well I tried it but it came unstuck! next step to drill out the rivets that hold the pad in and try to file a new one out of nylon, want to keep that mag on there because ut really looks the part
