Ruston PT rebuild Empty Ruston PT rebuild

A few weeks ago, I bought a partially-dismantled PT and am making good progress with assembly. However, inside the hopper, under the top face, there's a 5/16" tapped boss but I don't have anything left to fit to it. The thread is clean, so there's obviously been a bolt in there.
The Parts List doesn't have a sketch of it, but calls the part a "Water baffle".
Can any one provide a photo or sketch of this baffle so I can make one please? Is it steel, brass, cast aluminium, or what?
Secondly, the flywheel has a painted centre and rusty rim and sides. Would that originally have been 'as-machined' or also painted?

I believe that the 'water baffle' was possibly either a metal plate that pivoted on that bolt, it slid across to keep the water in when the engine was working hard and boiling, or a bung on a chain? I have a similar casting on my water hopper but it has never been drilled or tapped so possibly they did away with it later on? I would imagine that the flywheel was painted all over when new, similar to Lister's but couldn't say for certain. An email to Ray Hooley could be beneficial, he could also date the engine for you and say who it was supplied to. rehooley@ntlworld.com

Well, I've almost finished the job - and she runs! First swing of the handle, no rattles, no knocks, and no smoke. I can see the need for a baffle, as with only just enough water to cover the head nuts, there's a lot of vibration at anything above a fast idle and that water gets thrown out . I seems to be the flywheel is the cause as, even though the rim is running true, the un-machined part isn't. Maybe I'm just running it too fast? With no engine load, increasing the governor spring load has it turning circles around the yard.
I'll now see about posting some photos.

My follow-on post, with photos, ended up in 'Notices'. My mistake, of course, but how to get it here?
