Hi All
Get all the rubbish out of the sump before you go any further with painting. You dont want any bits in the oil. Thats what i would do i like playing safe with old engines.
But other wise you are doing a Bloody good with her.

Hi all
We have had a very busy we have clean and painted the carb, we have start to put it back together we put the piston in and all the stuff to make it turn over so we think, but will not turn over we are a bit confused??? Need help, we Broke one piston ring but we had on which is luckey, we painted all the part but not fuel tanks strips do we have brass ones are stick with old ones.

Hi kev

It is been to wet with use to put the top coat of paint on . So the project has stopped for a couple of weeks.
Hopefully I can put the paint on soon.and get it up and running.

sorry for no posts but there was only one job to do and it was top coat of paint.
does anyone no where top dead center is on the mag so we can get the right timing.

Aaaannnnddddd.... Your throttle spring bolt is 90degrees out so you will faff the paint when you turn that to the right place.

I feel a bit mean picking faults but I have, sorry. Feel free to look at my threads and find fault with those.

We will be putting on a second coat of paint and waiting for the fuel tank to come so will need the paint out again.

kev you can use synthetic thinners thats what i been recomended to use . worked fine
