H2 Restoration.
Hi, could somebody tell me if there is a book on the market on how to restore a Lister H2 pump, I have started to dismantle mine but have run into a problem with removing the valve caps on top of the pump the ones with the large hexagon on them, I have tried Plusgas and a large wrench to no avail, I don't want to damage them. I would be grateful for any help.
Thanks, Bernard.

there isnt a book on how to do it but is a book on lister shallow and deep well pumps but thats a sales book rather than repair . Think Villiers or foden on here would know how to get them out .

Hi Bernard, Do you have the brass plugs with the square hollow centres? If so . you can make up a tool from square bar that you can use to unscrew the plugs......safer than using the hex s as they can tear off. These can be very tight!! Billy.

Bernard, All I can suggest is heat the casti ngs around the brass caps and with a tight fitting spanner unscrew them.
These are seldom easy to remove, but with patience.
