Wico A points covers (Free at Tescos)
If anybody has an engine fitted with a 'Wico A' type magneto and has no points cover and would like one 'free', have a rummage through your larder/store cupboard for jars with screw top lids. I have 2 engines using Wico A's that came without points covers (A Coborn C6 and a Wolseley WD11) I purchased one for the Coborn and was about to do the same or the WD when I looked at a shelf in my shed and saw a Helmans mayo jar full of screws and just had to try it out.... it fitted, I then had a play in the larder and tried a few more (Wifey was out at the time) and they fitted as well. So it's well worth a go if you have an A type mag with no cover, it also does a bit of recycling in the meantime A quick coat paint and nobody would know...maybe. The spring clips will also fit with a bit of bending, or the lids stay nice and tight on their own
The real thing.
Experimental jar selection.
Helmans
Hmmm Curry
Side view
Branston... a bit fatter, but still fits.

Aye, my WD had a jam jar lid fitted when I purchased it, I can see no reason to change it now.
